Unfortunately, South Africa is facing a major energy crisis with frequent power cuts, known as load shedding. While these power cuts can occur regularly, there are also months where load shedding doesn’t happen at all. During your stay, you may experience it.

At Villa Visvanger, load shedding won’t disrupt your stay much, thanks to our solar panels and battery system, making the villa nearly self-sufficient in energy. This not only benefits the environment but also ensures that essential services like lighting, electricity, and internet stay up and running. You’ll also be able to cook on the gas stove without any issues.

Our battery has enough capacity to keep appliances like the washing machine running and to keep food fresh in the fridge and freezer during longer outages. The only exception is the air conditioners, which may not function fully during load shedding.
